Woodway Country Estates: A Stunning Woodinville Whole-Home Transformation
Some homes simply need furnishing updates. Others deserve a complete reimagining.
This Woodinville, WA whole-home remodel was exactly that: an opportunity to transform a dark, dated home into a light-filled, modern transitional retreat layered with warmth, architectural character, and thoughtfully curated furnishings that reflect our clients’ personalities.
At Amy Wellnitz Design, our approach to interior design is about creating homes that feel elevated yet livable: spaces designed for both everyday family life and effortless entertaining. This Woodinville interior design project is a perfect example.

Reimagining the Heart of the Home
One of the most dramatic transformations happened in the main living area.
What was once a sunken living room became an entirely reimagined dining space. By raising the floor level, the functionality and flow of the home was greatly improved, creating a more intentional connection between the surrounding spaces.
To anchor the room, we designed a custom elevated Venetian plaster fireplace that can be enjoyed directly from the dining table, bringing warmth, ambiance, and architectural interest to the heart of the home.
Above the dining table, a sculptural brass chandelier creates a bold focal point, balancing the clean architectural lines with a layer of personality and warmth.
The oversized dining table, imported from the Netherlands, comfortably seats ten and serves as the ultimate entertaining hub for family dinners and gatherings. Mushroom-toned velvet dining chairs add softness and texture, while a beautifully styled hutch and buffet console provide both storage and function for effortless hosting.
To further emphasize the home’s soaring architecture, we added custom ceiling beams that accentuate the vaulted ceiling and create an even grander sense of scale.

A Cozy Reading Retreat
In the space that once served as the dining room, we designed a warm, inviting reading retreat perfect for slow mornings and quiet moments.
Green velvet swivel lounge chairs paired with antique brass accents create richness and depth, while a custom built-in bookcase—cleverly tucked into the closet—adds both personality and practical storage. Picture rail molding was added to further cozy up the space and create architectural charm.
Smaller spaces like this are often where the most memorable moments happen.

Preserving Character While Modernizing the Family Room
Not every original detail needed to be replaced.
In the family room, we intentionally preserved the home’s original brickwork, especially the beautiful herringbone brick detail surrounding the opening to the adjacent entertaining lounge.
These architectural elements add authenticity and character that help ground the home’s newer finishes.
To modernize the space while keeping it approachable and comfortable, we layered in a chocolate brown leather sectional, a shearling accent chair, fireplace built-ins, soft rugs, collected decor, and greenery.
The result is a family room that feels polished, warm, and genuinely lived in.

A Moody Entertaining Lounge
One of the most dramatic spaces in the home is the entertaining lounge.
We embraced the original exposed brick and leaned into a deeper, moodier palette to create contrast against the lighter tones found throughout the rest of the home.
The pool table immediately becomes the focal point, paired with a striking brass chandelier overhead.
The adjacent custom bar was designed for effortless entertaining, complete with:
Built-in beverage refrigeration
Brass and glass display shelving
A stunning natural stone slab bar with an integrated sink
Designed for cocktail hour, game nights, and memorable evenings with family and friends, this space brings a bold sense of personality to the home.

A Jewel Box Powder Room
Powder rooms are the perfect place to create a little drama.
This space was intentionally color-drenched in a rich navy tone, creating depth and mood while beautifully complementing the mosaic tile and geometric artwork.
The result feels bold, sophisticated, and unforgettable.

A Custom Home Office Designed for Modern Living
A well-designed home office should feel just as beautiful as it is functional.
For this Woodinville interior design renovation, we completely reimagined the upstairs office to better support modern work-from-home living.
Natural light from the skylights and the room’s unique architectural angles helped shape the design.
Custom features included:
A full built-in bookcase designed as a polished Zoom backdrop
A custom U-shaped peninsula desk
Extensive integrated storage
Velvet swivel chairs for informal seating
Statement geometric lighting
A soft blue velvet desk chair for warmth and contrast
Though located on the darker north side of the home, thoughtful lighting and material selections helped the space feel bright, warm, and inspiring.

A Serene Primary Bedroom Retreat
The primary suite was designed to feel calm, elevated, and deeply comfortable.
An oversized glass flush mount chandelier adds softness and sophistication, while warm wood furnishings, custom linens, and layered styling create an inviting retreat.
A moss green velvet reading chair creates the perfect finishing touch: an intimate corner for quiet moments and relaxation.
